2014 is going to be a very exciting year!!!

 

I can't wait to get started on all the new adventures that will be coming my way!

I'm BACK!!!!

I would like to apologize for the long vacation from my blog. I wish I could say that I spent it somewhere on the beach soaking up the sun, but I can't. There has been some major changes in my life throughout the past years....I will try to catch you up to date. Currently Jeremiah and I are still planning away for our wedding which is now coming closer and closer every time we blink....eekkk!!! :) Currently, we have a photographer (one of the best!), DJ, officiant, reception/ceremony site, florist, and baker. I also found my wedding dress and accessories, as well as my bridesmaids dresses, shoes, and jewelry. We have a ton checked off our to do list, but a few more areas to get to before we can semi relax before the big day.
 
I recently graduated college in May and went to my first and last teaching job interview where I was offered my very first job. I was extremely fortunate/lucky/overwhelmed because it ended up being in a school district that I student taught in and the school that I fell in love with. So, I am now a proud K-3 Special Education teacher! Each day I am so thankful that I work with such kind and caring individuals. My students light up my life each day with their thoughts and opinions of how they view the world.
 
My life has taken one turn after another, and now that I am working my way through my first year of teaching I have a few do's and don'ts to share with all the new teachers out there or the college students who are pursuing this line of work.
 
As I grow and change throughout the years, I feel that my blog will continue to change as well....but, you will have to stay tune for all that good stuff later on... :)
 
I also want to make one of my New Year's Resolutions to all of my loyal readers....I promise to write more blog posts in 2014.

Life Update!! :)

Wow oh wow! I have been extremely busy these past few months. My plan was to write a post at least every week, but that totally didn't happen. I finished my first semester of Senior year which contained all of my methods courses. (For those of you who do not know what that is, it is where I learn how to teach all of the core content areas). On top of that, I had an internship requirement which had me out in the schools two days a week. However with that semester behind me, I will be beginning my student teaching, which is SOOOO exciting!!!

Over the next few days, I will post some new ideas that I am planning to use with the second graders and share some ideas that I have already tried. Stay tuned!!! :)

Why I Do What I Do

Hello there! My name is Karyn!

I have always wanted to start my own blog and share with others what can be done with their own two hands. I am a senior in college and I am on my way to a fulfilling career of becoming a teacher.....which means I have a ton of creative juices flowing. I am also planning a wedding for 2014, and with being in college and having student debt, I always have to be on the lookout for ways to pinch pennies. :)

Here is a little bit about me..... I have the most amazing finace in the world. He is a truly wonderful man who is always supportive of anything I want to do. I also have a new puppy (well he is 2 1/2 but that still qualifies as a puppy to me :P ) and his name is Rossco. He is a Border Collie and I absolutely think he is the cutest thing!!!

Within the pages that follow, I plan to share my ideas/projects that deal with college life, teaching, wedding planning, and my crazy life in general.
