Summer officially started for me on June 12th. I took a couple days off to just enjoy not having to plan anything for awhile. This week, however, I decided to start planning the new school year. :) I am SO EXCITED to share with you what I have accomplished today.
First up, new school rules!
My old rules were something I just printed out because they were free on TpT. However, they really didn't do the job that I needed them to do. This time I decided to make them simple and practical. As I was perusing Pinterest I found these little gems.
You can find this freebie at this cute little blog 3rd Grade Thoughts.
First I printed off these adorable rules and used my amazing LAMINATOR!!! I absolutely love this thing!
Then I cut my ribbon, folded it in half, and used Velcro dots to attach the rules to the ribbon.
You can find similar Velcro dots at Amazon for $3. These are the ones I used....
All you have left to do is to attach the ribbon to the Velcro dots like so.....
Add a bow to the top.....
And it's finished!!! Ta da!!!
Project #2!
Last year, I know that there were some areas where I struggled more than others...okay....A LOT of areas. One of them being Guided Reading. I thought I had it pretty well, until I watched a video of how Guided Reading should be done and realized that wasn't exactly what I had been doing. This year I decided to make it easier on myself and create a chart to help me plan various activities/skills to use with each group.
Here is the chart that I came up with.....
As you can see I like to use color to help me organize and keep everything straight.... :)
On to Project #3!
Last year a lot of my students had difficulty determining when to use certain punctuation marks when they were writing. So, I found these FREE cute posters from Rachelle Smith on TpT!!!
Once again, printed them out, laminated them, and done! I can't wait to see/read about all the things you have done over the summer!
Until next time!
